when the bad has to happen

Yes - bad things happen but they don't have to make me sour
while I have enough opportunity left before the final whistle
I can choose to be happy rather than wallow in self-pity and sorrow.

I will not look back and regret but ponder for valuable lessons
from whatever mistakes, misfortunes and misgivings...

If I am patient in one moment of anger
I will escape a hundred days of sorrows
and turn stumbling blocks into a stepping stones.

Love is not a feeling - it's a choice
 when the going gets tough

 the tough does not need to get going
    when you wonder how i survive
    simply because i come to a choice that i made
       --- the testament, commitment ---
